The World Contraception Day (WCD) is a campaign carried out annually since its start in 2018. Being an International day that is celebrated on every 26th September, aiming to raise awareness on the use of contraception and improving education about sexual and reproductive health, with a world’s vision of providing control over pregnancy timing and prevention of unintended pregnancies.
At ERC, a campaign is carried out in different districts, a week before the D-day (26th) and various Family Planning services given by health service providers, who are partners within the area where the campaign takes place.
This project has been implemented in Huye and Rwamagana Districts. The campaign is carried out in open places like markets, playgrounds, among others, where Family planning education and services can reach a big number of people.
Launched in 2018, the Reproductive Health and Research (RHR) aims to strengthen pre-service Education of Family Planning and build Faculty capacity with a goal of reducing maternal mortality and morbidity throughout the country.
The project targets faculty and students from the School of Medicine and Pharmacy, and School of Nursing and midwifery at the University of Rwanda. It is implemented in Huye, Remera, Rwamagana campuses, and CHUK, CHUB, Muhima and Rwamagana hospitals.Various trainings and workshops are conducted to improve of pre-service Family planning education.
